Pause & stop signs

  • م s Stop is obligatory
  • لا no non-stop
  • ج b stop or continuous-reading, both same
  • صلى bc better to continue
  • قلى bs better to stop
  • مـ m Inversion
  • ْ 0 Indicates the extra of the letter A in continuous reading, not in pausing

Phonetic & orthographic signs

  • M0 It indicates the AL-’IŠMĀM which means the lips should be held open and kept rounded, but relaxed
  • Ro Tilt the sound of "a" to "i" e.g. M*J*RₒY^H*A
  • س←ص Ss Pronounce letter Ṣ instead of S
  • ص←س Ss Pronounce letter S instead of Ṣ
  • ا و ي ن A W Y N The Small Capital Letters are the abandoned letters that should be uttered, instead of the original that stand on
  • ˚ O Indicates the extra of the letter, so it shouldn't be uttered, in continuous-reading or pausing

Recitation & verse marks

  • ءأ 2A Ease the pronunciation of the H*M*Z*h
  • س p Above the last letter of some words, it refers a quick Pause without breathing
  • ——— Above the word that caused Prostration
  • ۩ ۩ Prostration's position
  • ∴ ∴ Must choose one position to pause the reading; either at the first group or the second
  • ۝ ۝ It stands at the end of the verse and represents its number
